SamsunFix Samsung SM-B313E Inverted LCD After Flash | ResearchDownload 100% Working

One of the most frustrating issues technicians face when flashing the Samsung Metro B313E (SM-B313E) is the rotating, mirrored, or inverted LCD display bug. The device powers on, but the interface appears upside down, sideways, or mirrored.

Typically, technicians assume this requires a dedicated hardware dongle like the Z3X Box to restore proper panel drivers. However, you can fix this issue completely via USB using standard Spreadtrum (SPD) flash files loaded through ResearchDownload Tool—no hardware box required.

Fixing Samsung B313E Rotating Display Solution Firmware

Why Does the Rotating Display Issue Occur?

The Samsung SM-B313E relies on a Spreadtrum (SC6530) chipset. During production, Samsung used multiple revisions of LCD driver controllers across different batches.

When you flash a generic .PAC file, the firmware often writes an incompatible display driver, resulting in:

  • Screen rotation by 90° or 180°

  • Mirrored or inverted user interface

  • Distorted or white display symptoms

Replacing the display driver files inside the flash package or flashing a tested multi-revision firmware directly corrects the LCD initialization address.

Required Tools and Download Links

Make sure you download all required files before beginning:

  1. Spreadtrum (SPD) USB Drivers: Ensures your PC recognizes the device in boot ROM mode.

Step-by-Step Flashing Guide

Charge Battery & Use Rear USB Ports

Ensure the phone battery is charged to at least 50% before flashing. Always plug the USB cable into the motherboard's rear USB ports on desktop PCs to prevent data drops during write operations.

  1. Install Spreadtrum USB Drivers:

Extract the driver package and run the setup matching your operating system architecture (x86 or x64). Restart your PC once installed.

  2. Set Up ResearchDownload Tool:

Extract ResearchDownload_2.9.8004.zip and run ResearchDownload.exe as Administrator.

  3. Load the Firmware Package:

Click the First Gear icon (Load Packet) at the top left and select your base .PAC file. Wait a few moments for the tool to unpack and verify the package.

  4. Swap Display / Bin Files (Settings Configuration):

    • Click the Two Gears icon (Settings).

    • Under the Main / Flash Operations tab, locate the firmware partitions (e.g., FDL1, FDL2, BOOT, and display binaries).

    • If you are using the display-fix file package extracted from Z3X backups, replace the respective component bin paths with the fixed versions.

    • Click OK to save changes.

  5. Initiate Download:

Click the Play button (Start Downloading) in ResearchDownload.

  6. Boot and Connect the Device:

    • Remove the battery from the Samsung B313E, re-insert it, and do not turn on the power.

    • Press and hold the Center OK / Home button (boot key).

    • While holding the button, connect the micro-USB cable from your PC to the phone.

    • The tool will detect the device, install the FDL bootloader, and begin writing the firmware. Once the progress bar moves, release the center key.

  7. Finish and Verify:

Wait until the progress status shows Passed in green. Disconnect the USB cable, pull the battery, re-insert it, and power on the phone.

Verification: The Samsung boot logo and home screen should appear right side up with fully functional contrast and alignment.

Key Troubleshooting Tips

  • Phone disconnects halfway: Clean the micro-USB charging port using contact cleaner or isopropyl alcohol. A loose pin connection will terminate the SPD write process.

  • Device not detected: Open Device Manager on Windows. When inserting the USB while holding the center key, look for SPRD U2S Diag or Spreadtrum COM Port. If a yellow triangle appears, update the driver manually by pointing Windows to the extracted driver folder.
